Countryside Bicycle tour through Bali villages to Ubud
This is our most popular day adventures as you get to escape to the cooler climates of Bali’s Mountain region. Using brand new mountain bikes and safety equipment, the downhill trail from Mount Batur will lead you through sleepy villages along little-used roads and tracks.
Frequent stops are made along the way giving you the opportunity to view aged temple compounds and shady plantations bearing a variety of crops. Local women regally carry festive offerings of fruit and flowers to appease the Gods, whilst village ducks are herded in humorous orderly processions. Young boy’s cut grass to feed the family cow whilst weathered old men gossip at the roadside stall sipping glasses of aromatic mountain ground coffee.
An air-conditioned escort vehicle is on standby at the end of your trip to take you to enjoy a replenishing buffet luncheon before returning to your hotel. All of the guides come from the surrounding regions and are trained to entertain and educate by sharing a broad depth of knowledge in Balinese culture and lifestyle. This journey offers an insight into a Bali that is not commonly seen, and allows you to experience the charming culture of rural Bali. A fantastic day out packed with interest, education and fun! This wonderful morning is followed by a deliciously prepared local lunch in Bali’s village of Ubud.
Ayung River White Water Rafting
Enjoy a two hour, visually spectacular rafting trip down the Ayung River. This adventure is a wonderful mix of excitement, breath taking views and well guided, informative, sightseeing.
As you carve through some of Bali’s most appealing landscape, the Ayung River provides a thrill that begins the moment you push off from the riverbanks. As you switch between Class I and II rapids, you will wind through deep valleys with cascading waterfalls and towering cliffs of prehistoric significance.
On the more leisurely stretches through tropical forests you will see Hindu shrines that are brightly decorated on ceremonial days of prayer. Just as you think it is all coming to an end, the unpredictable Ayung River propels your raft into yet another rapid! This wonderful morning is followed by a deliciously prepared local lunch in Bali’s mountain area.
Gourmet Indonesian Cooking Class
Our cooking class is a unique lifestyle experience that speaks of hundreds years old of traditions, of the beautiful humbleness and the exotic richness of Indonesian dining and cooking culture, all at the same time.
The classes are held by Iboe Soelastri, an Indonesian chef who has begun to learn cooking from her grandmother when she was just 4 years old. Spend a wonderful afternoon preparing dishes that are part of ritual and everyday life on the magical island of Bali and finish with a true Waroeng lunch experience, eating surrounded by oil lamps, stone grinders, and traditional steamers on wood-fire terra-cotta stoves in the open kitchen accompanied by soothing, intimate Javanese music.
Scuba Diving at Bali’s Famous Tulamben Wreck (For Certified Divers Only)
Take in the sights as you travel to the far north of Bali to enjoy two dives on the American freighter ‘Liberty’ which was attacked and sunk by the Japanese 1942 during WWII where it now lies just off the coast. The 120m wreck lies parallel to the beach and is now one of the most spectacular dive spots on island. You will see schools of Jacks which surround us, Napoleon Wrasses, Scorpion fish, Snapper, big Potato Cods, Moray Eels, and if we are lucky small reef Sharks. Also, there are “small specialties” like nudibranches, ghost-pipe-fishes and a lot of crabs and shrimps at their cleaning-stations.
EAT PRAY LOVE
A visit to Bali would not be complete without a guided tour of where the stunning scenes from Eat Play Love were filmed. This is wonderful photo opportunity to complete your Bali album. You'll see where the stars lived, worked and played while filming in Bali. They also shopped while they were living in Bali so we will stop over at Tohpati (Batik factories), Celuk (gold & silversmiths), Mas (the center of wood carvers), Tegallang (beautiful rice terrace) and Ubud (the home of many talented artists).
As the day ends we have a memorable surprise in store for you to complete your tour of Hollywood meets Bali. |
